On March 18th, Frans Greidanus, Guest Professor of Jiangnan University and Zejiang University, was invited by Professor Xujin Pu, Dean of the School of Business, to deliver academic exchanges at the School. He is the former President of Philips Asia Research Institute and former Advisory Board Member of Tilburg University in the Netherlands. Professor Greidanus shared multifaceted academic insights with faculty and students through a thematic lecture and a study-abroad event.

In the morning, he delivered a keynote speech titled Innovation and Intellectual Property. From a global perspective, Professor Greidanus systematically analyzed China’s technological innovation development path. He highlighted that while China has gained significant first-mover advantages in fields such as 5G communications, artificial intelligence, and new energy, it urgently needs to establish a trinity protection system integrating “patents + trade secrets + technical standards.” To address pain points in enterprise innovation management, he proposed an innovative "three-step integration strategy": first, establishing an intellectual property early warning mechanism throughout the R&D cycle; second, deeply integrating IP into investment decision-making processes; and third, maximizing patent value through capitalization. These viewpoints provide actionable theoretical frameworks and practical pathways for industry-university-research collaborative innovation.

In the afternoon, the Netherlands study-abroad sharing session was held, co-presented by Greidanus and Dr. Jane Gong, General Manager of Philips Patient Monitoring China.Professor Greidanus, leveraging his experience as an Advisory Board Member of Tilburg University, elaborated on the university application process for students aspiring to study in the Netherlands. He engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as study-abroad planning and cross-cultural adaptation strategies. Dr. Jane Gong, General Manager of Philips Patient Monitoring China, was also invited to share her career experiences in the medical technology industry and personal professional development insights from the perspective of multinational corporations. At the end of the event, Professor Fanbo Meng, Assistant of Dean of the School of Business, introduced ongoing exchange and international advancement programs between the school and Tilburg University, aiming to build a diversified international education platform for students.

By integrating cutting-edge academic resources with international education channels, this academic exchange event not only broadened the international horizons of faculty and students but also effectively promoted the deep integration of business education innovation and international talent cultivation.
