On October 24, a delegation from Business School, Monash University—including Professor Carla Wilkin, Deputy Dean; Ms. Courtney Irvine, Manager of Student Programs and Partnerships; Mr. Augustine (Gus) Tham, Marketing and Admissions Manager; Ms. Suzanna (Suzie) Kwok, Senior Coordinator for International Programs and Partnerships; and Ms. Kathy Ilott, Senior Manager of Partnerships and Marketing Services—visited the School of Business for an exchange. Dean Pu Xujin, International Exchange Secretary Liu Shujiao, Senior Advisor for International Accreditation Tao Yingying, and Feng Linlin, Academic Affair Sino-foreign joint Programs Coordinator, attended the meeting.

Dean Pu Xujin extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He noted that collaboration between the two universities has grown steadily in recent years, producing remarkable progress in the scale and quality of the joint education programs. He expressed his hope for further expansion of cooperation areas, seeking new breakthroughs in joint research, faculty exchange, and student mobility.

Liu Shujiao gave an overview of the School’s academic development, international cooperation, and program structure, with particular focus on progress made in the joint programs with Monash University and the achievements of student training.

Professor Carla Wilkin thanked Jiangnan University for its hospitality and spoke highly of the Business School’s contributions to global talent development, as well as the strong performance of students enrolled in the joint programs. She emphasized that the two institutions have already established a solid foundation for cooperation and will continue to advance high-quality development in Business Administration and Data Science, jointly elevating the strategic partnership to new heights.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on priorities for the next phase, including annual work plans, teaching arrangements, curriculum optimization, and the long-term mechanism for faculty exchanges. After the meeting, Dean Pu presented Professor Wilkin with a commemorative gift marking the School’s 40th anniversary. The delegation then visited the Jiangnan University History Museum to gain a deeper understanding of the university’s development and achievements.

To help students gain a deeper understanding of the advantages and further study pathways of the joint program, the School invited Professor Carla Wilkin to deliver a themed information session, drawing nearly 200 participants. Professor Wilkin provided a comprehensive introduction to the features of Australian higher education, the study environment, and the academic strengths of Monash University. Through insights into university rankings, case-based teaching examples, and campus culture, students gained a clearer understanding of overseas study opportunities and experienced the distinctive appeal of Monash University as a world-leading business school.

The undergraduate programs in Business Administration (Joint Program) and Data Management & Analytics, jointly operated by Jiangnan University and Monash University, were approved by the Ministry of Education in 2012 and 2025 respectively. The steady progress of these programs marks a new milestone in the School’s internationalization efforts and provides essential support for building a high-level global exchange platform. Looking ahead, the School will continue its mission to cultivate future leaders with global perspectives, deepen strategic partnerships with top-tier universities such as Monash University, and integrate world-class educational resources to build a globally influential international education brand and talent development hub.
