Monash University-Taught Courses Conclude for the 2025–2026 Fall Semester

Recently, two core courses for the 2025 and 2024 cohorts of the Business Administration (sino-foreign joint program) at School of Business, Jiangnan University—Principles of Management and Consumer Behavior—officially concluded. The courses were taught by Associate Professor Kalfadellis Paul and Lecturer Kolar Boris from Business School, Monash University in Australia. As integral components of the curriculum, these courses equipped students with a comprehensive foundation in business knowledge, addressing both internal organizational management and external market dynamics.

Principles of Management, taught by Associate Professor Paul Kalfadellis, offered a systematic overview of fundamental management theories and contemporary practices. The curriculum covered key modules including an introduction to management and its historical evolution, core management functions, external environment analysis, and strategic formulation. It further extended to cutting-edge topics such as corporate social responsibility and ethics, technological transformation and work organization, cross-cultural management, and international business development. By incorporating career planning and reflective learning activities, the course aimed to cultivate students’ holistic managerial perspective and leadership competencies.

Consumer Behaviour, taught by Mr. Boris Kolar, centered on the consumer decision-making process and provided students with an internationalized academic learning experience. The course comprehensively addressed essential topics such as consumer psychology, individual decision-making mechanisms, and social and cultural influences on consumption. Drawing on his global teaching perspective, Mr. Kolar used vivid international cases and interactive teaching methods to guide students in analyzing consumption patterns in global markets, thereby strengthening their ability to identify market trends and understand user needs from a global perspective.

At the course closing session, Professor Pu XuJin, Dean of the School, presented letters of appreciation to the two Monash instructors.He expressed his gratitude for their contributions, noting that their teaching not only delivered cutting-edge knowledge but also embodied international pedagogical perspectives that play a crucial role in broadening students’ global horizons. Associate Professor Kalfadellis and Mr. Kolar each shared their reflections on the course delivery, drawing on their respective areas of expertise and commenting on classroom engagement and teaching philosophy.

The successful conclusion of these courses has laid a strong foundation for students’ future academic development. Moving forward, the School will continue introducing high-quality overseas educational resources to nurture students with both strong local application skills and a global strategic mindset.
