At the AMBA&BGA Excellence Awards Ceremony in London on the evening of February 7, Beizhe Wenhua, a non-profit organization founded by Xia Yixin, the deputy secretary-general of the MBA Alumni Association of School of Business and 2014 MBA alumnus, was shortlisted for “MBA Startup of the Year” (third party). It is the first of its kind for Jiangnan University and the only candidate team in Mainland China.
The selection for 2020 AMBA&BGA Excellence Awards started in September 2019. AMBA-certified colleges and universities are qualified for application. The awards are designed to recognize what the students and graduates have done, and the quality and achievements of MBA education.
Founded in 2015, Beizhe Wenhua promotes Chinese culture through salons. So far, it has held nearly a hundred charity reading clubs and other activities. Beizhe Wenhua advocates that citizens read more, read well and improve their cultural literacy. Its activities have attracted widespread attention from the society and the media. Meanwhile, Beizhe Wenhua has been paying attention to other social welfare undertakings. Therefore, it was finally shortlisted. The organizing committee sent an invitation letter in early January 2020, inviting the team to the awards ceremony in London, England.
The sudden outbreak of the pandemic disrupted the team’s arrangements. They actively responded to the pandemic control and decided to cancel their plan for attending the ceremony. They refunded the team’s tickets and purchased prevention supplies to assist the fight against the pandemic in China.
On February 17, Xia Yixin and the public welfare team of Beizhe Wenhua came to Wuxi Hechang community and donated supplies such as masks and eye masks that were not easy to purchase to the front-line staff. They also sent masks to friends in Wuhan. Xia Yixin participated in the mask donation initiated by JNU’s MBA team. Beizhe team invited the psychological counseling team of Beijing Normal University to give lectures to people who were isolated at home during the pandemic.
MBA program of JNU is committed to training business management talent with an international vision, local experience, professional ethics, expertise, awareness of innovation, and good skills in communication and cooperation. Approved in 2007, the MBA program of JNU has admitted 1,490 students and was certified by AMBA in 2018. It ranked 45th among the Top 50 MBA Programs in China in 2019.
