Human Resources Development Base of Wuxi

The Human Resources Development Base of Wuxi (hereinafter referred to as the HRD Base) is an open cooperation research platform under joint construction of School of Business of Jiangnan University and Wuxi Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. Based on original Co-research Center of Jiangnan University and Wuxi Municipality, the HRD Base will further cooperation scopes and conduct researches while considering actual needs of human resources development in southern Jiangsu province and the whole country.

The HRD Base features a well-structured team, of which members can complement each other in profession and research. Led by Professor Zhu Jinwei, Vice Dean of Business School of Jiangnan University, the Base also attracted university scholars with profound academic attainments, government officials of rich experience, and entrepreneurs and corporate human resources directors. The team of the BRD Base consists of 12 from the School of Business, of which three are professors and five are associate professors, and all team members hold doctor degrees. In the past year, based on the co-construction research center, the HRD Base has constructed a high-level academic team by bringing in excellent young doctors and research elites and integrating personnel structure, creating a cooperative and dynamic working environment and an atmosphere highlighted with rigorous academic spirit. In this way, the School and the Municipality established a highly-efficient cooperation.

The HRD Base mainly focuses on the following researches and services: 1. Advice for all levels of governments in decision-making, which includes construction and environment evaluation for the innovation and entrepreneurial talents training park, talent development plan for various regions, human resources development and management for public sectors; 2. Management consulting services for enterprises and institutions, which includes talent evaluation and job qualification model set-up; Job analysis, salary management, performance management and career planning and human resources management system design; Organization culture building and best employer selection; Various types of investigations such as employee satisfaction and attitude and engagement in work. Aiming to solve cutting-edge academic problems in human resources, the HRD Base also actively serves governments, enterprises and institutions in Wuxi, south Jiangsu province and the whole country. In recent years, the HRD base has shouldered nearly ten projects from National Social Sciences Fund, Planning Fund of Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Governments, published more than 250 papers in domestic and international high-level periodicals, submitted over 30 advisory reports in assisting government decision-making and conducted 60+ management consulting service projects for enterprises and institutions, generating widespread social influences.

Adhering to the principle of “consolidated, deepened, elevated and innovative research”, the HRD Base strives to create a friendly environment and communication platform for science researches and strengthen exchanges with peer institutions from home and abroad, such as cooperation with Fudan University and Nanjing University, and joint subject research with experts and scholars from Stanford University of U.S., Monash University of Australia, and Hitotsubashi University of Japan. In the meantime, the HRD Base also provides solutions, suggestions, consultancy and evaluation services for governments and enterprises based on local conditions, achieving wide acclaim. The mission of the Base is to become an important human resources policy and government decision-making research institute, a high-level corporate business evaluation and consultancy service center and an influential human resources research and academic exchange platform in the region.

Considering strategic demands of the school, city and the country and subject development requirements, the HRD Base will strengthen teamwork spirit and cooperation awareness, conduct interdisciplinary researches and give full play to its academic advantages and pursue innovations, striving to be a important human resources police and decision-making institutions, a high-level corporate business evaluation and consultancy service center and an influential human resources research and academic exchange platform in the region as soon as possible.
