School of Business Held the JEUL Seminar on University-Industry Links

From January 18 to 19, the JEUL Seminar on University-Industry Links funded by EU Erasmus+ was held at School of Business, focused on the sharing of experience among members in university-enterprise cooperation. The conference was attended, both online and offline, by 85 representatives from nine universities, institutions and enterprises from China, the United Kingdom, Italy, Vietnam, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, and Belgium. Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of JNU Cai Jianying, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Business Zhang Haifeng, Vice Deans Wang Yuhong and Qian Wuyong, and representatives of six enterprises participated in the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Professor Wang Yuhong, vice dean of the School of Business.

At the opening ceremony, Cai Jianying welcomed the representatives, and introduced the development of JNU in recent years. He hoped to strengthen communication with international universities and related institutions and enterprises. Wang Yuhong introduced the background and organization of the seminar, the two-day agenda, and the current development and latest achievements of the School of Business. Witnessed by all representatives, Qian Wuyong signed a memorandum of industry-university-research cooperation with representatives of six enterprises.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Maurizio Pompella and Professor Mario De Martino from University of Siena gave an overview of University of Siena, its experience in industry-university-research cooperation on production, education and research, and the latest achievements of the JEUL project. Belgian IHF representative Lorenzo Costantino introduced the organization’s successful experience in organizing and participating in various projects funded by the European Union; Professor Desmond Doran from the Kent Business School established a quantitative model for more effective talent training in industry-university-research cooperation.

On the morning of January 19, Wang Yuhong shared the settings of postgraduate workstation setting, the practice base, the entrepreneur tutors, the board of directors, the joint construction of new majors, and the achievements in industry-university-research cooperation. Representatives from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City also shared the status quo and experience in university-enterprise cooperation. In the afternoon, representatives from Vilnius University and Skoda Automotive University gave relevant speeches. Finally, Professor Iraj Hashi from Staffordshire University summarized the two-day seminar and put forward future plans and hopes.

The seminar is a useful exploration that opens up channels and approaches for international cooperation and exchange under the influence of the pandemic.
