At 18: 00 on December 20, the 16th MBA Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum was held in the Far East Lecture Hall. Professor Chen Jian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Cereal Fermentation Technology, and director of the Future Food Science Center of Jiangnan University, gave a lecture on “Future Food: Tasks and Challenges”. Zhang Haifeng, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Business, Deputy Dean Wang Yuhong and 320 postgraduates participated. The forum was hosted by Teng Lefa, dean of Business School.
Academician Chen Jian first explained the current development trend of food technology in the world. He believed that the deep integration of big data, cloud computing, IoTs, artificial intelligence and biotechnology may give birth to new industries, new models, and new formats of food. From the perspectives of industry and technology, he also analyzed the possible challenges for the food industry in China. Finally, he shared the possible trends of food consumption and possible behaviors of food consumers in the post-pandemic era.
