From September 9 to 13, the finals of the 12th Peak Time Business Simulation Competition was held online. The event was organized by the East China University of Science and Technology and the Peak Time Organizing Committee under the guidance of the Teaching Steering Committee for Business Administration of the Ministry of Education. The JNU Vision Team, made up of Lu Pengcheng, Wang Lingli, Zhou Xiaoli and Xie Xiaonan from Class 2019 and instructed by Tang Jie and Zhu Jiajun, won the first prize in the MBA category.
The event kicked off in October 2019, attracting more than 1,200 teams of undergraduates and MBA students from 208 colleges and universities across China. It consists of five stages of the global competition. The JNU Vision Team was among the 27 MBA teams to enter the finals in mid-January 2020.
Due to the pandemic, the China finals were postponed from March to September, including an opening ceremony, a commercial roadshow video, introduction of English teams, platform-based business simulation and business performance defense. The team formulated a detailed preparation plan, collected data by visiting Roewe 4S stores, consulting industry alumni, and sorting out research data, analyzed the case in terms of marketing environment, STP, marketing, and planning. Within one week, they completed a detailed marketing plan. During the three-day platform-based business simulation, the team stood out in all the eight rounds. In the end, they won the first prize in the MBA category, ranking third.
Over the past 12 years, more than 400 MBA students of the School have signed up for the Peak Time. Altogether ten teams have made it to the finals, garnering 3 first prizes and 7 second prizes.
The MBA Program Center highlighted teaching methods, including simulation, case study, mobile classrooms, and integrated practice, so as to strengthen students’ skills in analysis and solving problems and train business management professionals with an international vision, local experience, professional ethics, expertise, awareness of innovation, and good communication and cooperation skills.
