Seminar on Development of Finance and Community-Based Financial Cooperation Held at JNU

From August 10 to 11, 2020, the Seminar on Development of Finance and Community-Based Financial Cooperation was held at Jiangnan University. Present were over 30 outstanding scholars in finance from Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, Xiamen University, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Sun Yat-Sen University, Shandong University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Hunan University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Shanghai University.

On the afternoon of August 10, the opening ceremony and the seminar on development of finance were held in Meeting Room 307 and chaired by Teng Lefa, dean of the School of Business. Zhang Linghao, vice president of JNU, warmly welcomed all the experts present, introduced the development of JNU, and hoped that the experts would enlighten JNU on the building of disciplines and majors.

Zhou Fangzhao, director of the Department of Finance, briefed the experts on the current development, existing problems and future plans of Finance of JNU. Professor Fan Conglai and Professor Li Xindan from Nanjing University, Professor Liang Qi from Nankai University, Professor Fang Ying from Xiamen University, Professor Zhang Jinqing from Fudan University, etc., emphasized the need to connect with the School’s advantageous and characteristic disciplines for innovative development, to clarify the goals for differentiated development, to flexibly introduce high-end financial talent, and strengthen cooperation with local enterprises.

After that, a seminar on community-based finance was held and chaired by Liu Liya, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Finance of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Wang Min, former party committee member and vice chairman of the Securities Industry Association of China, delivered a speech. He focused on the intention and problems of community-based finance.

Yang Renqiang, chairman of Aladdin Holdings Group, briefly introduced the Group, and shared his ideas on community-based economy and community-based finance from an industrial perspective. Professor Wang Qing from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Professor Guo Ye from Xiamen University, Professor Zhu Xiaoneng from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Professor Cao Tingqiu from Shandong University, and Professor Chen Xuanjuan from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics put forward their opinions and suggestions.

Xie Yumei, Wang Lei, Chen Wenting, Zhou Fangzhao from Department of Finance of the School and young doctors attended the seminar, consulting the experts on building first-class undergraduate majors, applying for taught programs in finance and constructing think tanks.
