Delegation from School of Business, Jiangnan University visited the Netherlands for Academic Exchange

From October 19 to 25, at the invitation of Tilburg University, Eindhoven University of Technology, and the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS), a delegation from the School of Business, Jiangnan University — consisting of Assistant Dean Meng Fanbo, Associate Professor Yang Menghua from the Department of Management Science and Engineering, and Lecturer Wu Zhengyang from the Department of Organizational Management —visited the Netherlands for an exchange. Centered on academic collaboration, institutional partnership, and joint talent cultivation, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with the three universities to promote closer cooperation between Jiangnan University and leading Dutch institutions.

On October 21, the China–Netherlands Forum was held at JADS under the theme “Innovative Design Solutions in Healthcare, Logistics, and Management.” The forum aimed to strengthen academic exchange between China and the Netherlands. Representatives from the Province of North Brabant, School of Economics and Management, Tilburg University, School of Industrial Engineering and School of Design, Eindhoven University of Technology, JADS, and School of Business and School of Design, Jiangnan University participated in the event. During the forum, Meng Fanbo, Yang Menghua, and Wu Zhengyang delivered academic presentations on topics such as healthcare management and the application of artificial intelligence in management. They also held in-depth discussions with Dutch scholars on these research areas.

On October 22, the delegation visited JADS, where they met with Professor Aarnout Brombacher and Associate Professor Martijn Willemsen, Program Director of the MSc in Data Science and Business Engineering. Professor Brombacher warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced JADS’s programs, student projects, and international collaborations. Meng Fanbo and Yang Menghua presented Jiangnan University’s and the School of Business’s general profile and the development of its Big Data Management and Application program. Both sides held productive discussions on joint student training and cooperation in data-related fields, reaching a consensus to co-organize a Summer School on Big Data in 2026.

On October 23, the delegation visited Tilburg University for further discussions with the International Office and the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM).

Mr. Wessel Meijer, Director of the International Office, welcomed the delegation and introduced Tilburg University’s distinctive academic features, international collaboration network, and student support services. Meng Fanbo expressed appreciation for Tilburg University’s support of Jiangnan University’s 2025 “Discover Jiangsu” Summer School. The two sides discussed the planning of next year’s program. The meeting was also attended by Anna Rathert and Stefan Groeneveld from the International Mobility Team, as well as Professor Frans Greidanus, Visiting Professor of the School.

Later, at TiSEM, the delegation held talks with Vice Dean for International Affairs Dr. Jorna Leenhee, Vice Dean for Education Dr. Herbert Hamers, Professor Carol Ou, Associate Professor Zilin He, Professor Joris Knoben, Academic Director of the MSc in International Management Dr. Korhan Nazliben, Director of the International Office Mr. Wessel Meijer, and Professor Frans Greidanus. Both sides focused on educational collaboration, student exchange, and research cooperation, holding detailed discussions on key issues such as student selection, study duration, and credit recognition. During the meeting, Jiangnan University and Tilburg University officially signed a Student Exchange Agreement, marking a significant step forward in student mobility and international talent cultivation, and laying a solid foundation for deeper future cooperation.

During the visit, the delegation also met with representatives from Eindhoven University of Technology, including Senior International Relations Officer Rob Stroeks, Associate Professors Yinqian Zhang, Jun Hu, and Yuan Lu, and Professor Frans Greidanus. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on educational and research collaborations.

Through academic presentations, agreement signings, and constructive dialogues, this visit to the Netherlands effectively broadened the School of Business’s partnership network with Dutch universities and strengthened its engagement in China–Netherlands higher education exchanges. Looking ahead, the School will continue to foster regular cooperation with Dutch institutions, promote more interdisciplinary and multi-level collaborative projects, and contribute to Jiangnan University’s internationalization and the deep integration of Chinese and Dutch education and research.
