On September 2nd, Vice-President of Monash University, Yang Shuang, accompanied by Monash University's China Recruitment Manager, Josephine Yao, and one other representative, visited our university. They were welcomed by Prof. Pu Xujin, Dean of the School of Business, Sun Xiaofang, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean, and Meng Fanbo, Assistant of Dean. The purpose of the visit was to meet with the 2024 cohort of undergraduate students majoring in Business Administration (Sino-Foreign Joint Program).
During the visit, Yang Shuang gave a detailed introduction to the collaborative undergraduate program in Business Administration, highlighting key aspects such as the program’s unique advantages, the “3+1” study model, and cultural life in Australia. She offered three pieces of advice to the new students: First, focus on academics and improve English language skills to be well-prepared for completing their undergraduate studies; second, plan ahead and engage in internships and practical experiences to build a strong foundation for future education and career opportunities; third, maintain a positive mindset, adapt proactively to new environments, and pave a solid path for their future.
Dean Pu Xujin shared insights into the admission scores and academic backgrounds of the 2024 cohort, as well as an overview of the program's graduates, including their further education and employment trajectories. He encouraged the new students to embrace challenges, make the most of the faculty and resources available, gain knowledge, and develop their abilities to shape themselves into strong and capable individuals during their university years.
During the Q&A session, Yang Shuang patiently answered questions from the students about Monash University's IELTS requirements, study and life planning for the year in Australia, and future education and career directions. She also shared interesting stories about studying and living in Australia.
After the exchange session, Yang Shuang and her team took a group photo with the students and presented them with Monash University-themed souvenirs. This interactive event gave the students a more comprehensive understanding of Monash University and helped them clarify their future study and life plans.
